We’re excited to announce Clippy version 1.1.0, packed with exciting new features and important fixes based on your feedback. This update marks a significant step forward in making Clippy more interactive, helpful, and fun to use on your desktop.

Speech Engine Integration
Clippy can now talk to you using real voice synthesis! We’ve implemented a lightweight speech engine so Clippy can greet you, comment on tasks, or just keep you company — with voice!

Text-to-Speech (TTS) Support
Clippy is now able to read out messages and notifications. This is perfect for users who want a hands-free experience or enjoy a more personal interaction with their assistant.

“About” Section Added
We’ve included a proper “About Clippy” window with version details, credits, and a personal message from the developer.

Improvements

Updated Music Player
The built-in music player has been revamped for smoother playback and better compatibility with MP3 files. We also squashed a few playback bugs — your tunes should now play without hiccups!

Bug Fixes

Animation Lag Fix
We noticed that some users experienced stuttering or freezing animations. We've optimized Clippy’s frame handling to make movements much smoother, even on lower-end machines.

Email Sending Fixed
Several users reported issues with Clippy’s email feature. We’ve patched up the mail protocol and fixed connection bugs — Clippy can now send emails reliably again!
